I have been anti AI for quite some time. I see the potentional danger with artificial intelligence both in the creative space and in humanity as a whole.
Neocities felt like a break from all the junk filled sea of shit that is social media. That's why I urge people to go to MY website. I didn't need that much technical knowledge to set up a website and the fact that it was pretty much free was a bonus. I loved working on this website, watching it improve as the years go on. Sure it's a bit scrapy but it was MINE and I got to make it unique in my own way.

But that didn't mean shit was not happening behind the scenes...

To put it bluntly, Neocities' owner, Kyle Drake is pro AI.
In a writing on his website titled "Moratorium on freaking out about AI", he equates the fears of AI to exaggerations. Which is scary now since even Sam Altman (ChatGPT's CEO) said that AI might doom humanity if it keeps growing.
There have also been rumors of him vibecoding the service, but there isn't any evidence for that claim.

The point still stands, Neocities cannot be trusted anymore.

So we are moving to the next best thing for us. A similar, likeminded service that is (hopefully) NOT PRO AI. Nekoweb!
Since Planet Jerrison never relied on Javascript, the transfer should be nice and smooth, and everything (in theory) SHOULD BE AS IT WOULD ON NEOCITIES.
